Past Cool Things

Forever by Pati NagleForever released.

This book is a bit of a departure for the series, having a male protagonist instead of female. All the ælven from the first two books are here, though – and I hope my readers will enjoy Stephen as much as they liked Len and Manda.

Audiobooks!!!

BookViewCafé has made a deal to license audiobooks of its members’ work through Audible.com. So far nine of my titles are up, plus two of the Far Western Civil War books. Listen to the free samples – the narrator on Pet Noir does a great job with the voices.

Ever wonder why Midwinter isn’t actually in the middle of official “winter”? Now it is! When I created the Ælven culture for my new fantasy series, I rearranged the seasons so they land properly centered around the solstices and equinoxes. Then I designed a year-at-a-glance calendar. Want a free copy? Visit the ælven calendar page at aelven.com.

I received a contract today for a two-book deal with Del Rey. Two fantasy novels, which were inspired by my story “Kind Hunter.” These novels take place many centuries before the story, so they are in a sense an early pre-history. I’m very excited about their upcoming publication!

05/16/06

Slipstreams is now out. (Order it now or pick it up at your favorite bookstore – if they don’t have it, they’ll order it for you.)

04/04/06

I just saw the cover art for the Slipstreams anthology, coming in May 2006. It’s so cool I had to share
it!

My short story “Dawn’s Early Light” has been picked up for the anthology From the Trenches, edited by Joseph Paul Haines, to be published by Carnifex in 2006.

A song I wrote has been recorded by Christine Lavin! Read about the details in my March 31, 2005 blog entry.

My short story “Nite 2 Remember” has been picked up for the anthology Slipstreams, edited by John Helfers, to be published by Daw Books in 2006.

I did it! I started a blog. Now before those who know me complain that I’ve always called them time-sinks, let me qualify. I’ve started a blog, to which I’ll post after I’ve finished my daily writing, not before. If you’d like to visit it, the address is http://www.publishersmarketplace.com/members/patinagle/

My first foreign sale! French publisher Editions de l’Oxymore bought French translation rights to my short story, “Kind Hunter” for its anthology, Il Etait Une Fee, which came out in December 2000. My story even got its own artwork, a very cool picture of my hero and his feline sidekick!
